Case Studies

Client: Small Company
Objective: Organize Supplies
Time Frame: 6 hours

This company needed to better organize an area that served 3 purposes: supply storage, conference room and fulfillment/mailing center. The main complaint was that the staff, many of whom were part-timers, was unable to locate supplies when needed and did not know when stock was low on a specific item. In addition, a workflow for assembling and shipping each day’s packages needed to be established.

After:
  • One section was designated as the Assembly Station and the other as the Shipping/Press Kit Station
  • The materials on the 3 racks were sorted out and all cartons were stored under the Assembly Station
  • All shipping materials were sorted and stored under the Shipping/Press Kit Station
  • All office supplies were consolidated on 2 of the racks and promotional materials on the third rack
Before:
  • The supply storage area was comprised of three racks grouped together
  • 3 large storage bins took up a lot of valuable space on the shelves
  • The same items could be found on all 3 racks
  • Packages were assembled in multiple locations and each area was cluttered with supplies

Client Reaction: “We now have a much more efficient and organized office, and are better prepared for the next batch of part-timers who are scheduled to start work next month.”
