This client's dining area and living room served a dual purpose, office and living space. In addition, the majority of her business files and other related materials were kept in a storage room (small bedroom on the other side of the home). An organizing consultant was needed to help her create a clear-cut division between work and living space; it was time to call in the help of a professional home office organizer to convert the storage room into an office and implement organizing solutions to create an efficient new work environment.

Before

  • The dining room table was used as a desk and cleared for meals
  • Office equipment, files and reference materials were scattered around the living room
  • The storage room was chock-full of business related files and office supplies, hobby materials and personal items

After

  • The former storage room is now the office
  • Only work-related materials and personal papers are kept in this space
  • The furniture was re-arranged to better utilize the new work space
  • All other essential non-work items were moved to other areas of the home for storage
