Our NYC Professional Organizer States: Simple Form of Technology is a Bright Idea
As an NYC professional organizer, it’s my job to look at the big picture and the tiniest details for my clients, as well as in my own life. And this month I’ve been doing just that when it comes to technology.
We’ve looked at dealing with personal electronic devices, how to manage email, avoiding “cord spaghetti” in and around desks and other places, as well as how organizing apps can synthesize parts of a busy life.
One surprising way that technology changes have created opportunities for people is actually light bulbs. I know, not all that exciting on the surface, but here are some of the reasons you should consider modernizing your light bulbs:
Ambiance – The quality of light matters
Convenience – Who wants to spend more time than they have to replacing bulbs?
Money – Everybody needs good ways to save dollars.
Conservation – Everyone can agree that conservation makes sense.
As many know, the U.S. government began phasing out old-fashioned incandescent bulbs in 2012, and got more serious about it earlier this year. But, surprisingly, there are still a lot of incandescent bulbs, particularly ones combining the old technology with halogen gas, available.
You can still do incandescent, in other words, although they’re more expensive than they used to be. But why would you want to? Even the “improved” incandescent bulbs are nowhere near as efficient as either compact fluorescent or LED bulbs.
Our NYC professional organizer is quick to point out that the smart choice, for those who want the very best organizing tips when it comes to light bulbs, is LED bulbs. A single LED bulb can save you hundreds of dollars over the course of its lifetime! And the light from these bulbs is very attractive. It’s warm and pleasant, like sunlight itself.
As an NYC professional organizer, I would have all my clients, those in the office space and the home space, convert every bulb they have moving forward to this wonderful form of technology. Converting to LED bulbs is the right thing to do, and the best thing to do, and one of my technology organizing tips that you can take to the bank.
